This Privacy Policy (‘Privacy Policy’) applies to the business of Blast Mining Enterprises B.V., a private limited company with registered office at Litslaan 21, 2082GW Santpoort-Zuid, the Netherlands, hereinafter referred to as ‘BME’.

BME acts as a mining industry consultant and provides related products to the mining industry. The services and products provided by BME include (but are not limited to) publications, reports, presentations, spreadsheets, graphs & graphics, images, text, functionality, data & data analysis, other analyses, opinions, video, audio, websites, products, tools, and models, hereinafter collectively referred to as ‘BME Content’.

The term ‘Potential Customer’ refers to anyone who accesses BME Content or anyone about whom BME has collected and stored data.

This Privacy Policy is intended to help a Potential Customer understand how BME uses and protects data a Potential Customer provides when a Potential Customer visits and uses the BME Website and other BME Content.

What Potential Customer data BME collects

BME may collect anonymous information about the use of the BME website. BME’s web server can log which pages are visited by Potential Customers, their IP addresses, and what kind of web browsers Potential Customers use. The BME website also contains hyperlinks to other pages on the BME website. BME can use technology to identify how often these links are used and which pages on the BME website Potential Customers choose to view. This technology does not identify Potential Customers personally, but enables BME to compile statistics about Potential Customers and their use of the BME website.

BME collects personal data that relates to Potential Customers for the Services and Products BME provides. BME may collect and use different types of Potential Customer data as follows:

  3. Technical information: Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type & version, time zone setting & location, browser plug-in types & versions, operating system & platform, and other devices you use to access the BME website.

BME also collects aggregate data. Aggregate data may be derived from Potential Customer data, but does not reveal Potential Customer identity.

How data is collected

BME collects contact information, profile information, and technological information as this relates to Potential Customers for the Services and Products BME provides. BME collects data in different ways, including (but not limited to):

  1. As a result of reviewing public data: BME aims to identify Potential Customers by reviewing public information regarding mining industry businesses, projects, and key personnel.
  2. As a result of communicating with Potential Customers: BME aims to keep track of prior communication with Potential Customers to maximize the extent to which BME is able to service Potential Customer requirements. Potential Customers can be contacted by BME or vice versa. When a Potential Customer visits the BME Website or accesses BME Content, BME considers this an example of communication with BME. In this instance, BME collects automatically generated data as well as information provided by Potential Customers during the completion of online forms and surveys.
  3. As a result of technical data provided by analytics providers such as Google.

How Potential Customer data is used

BME uses Potential Customer data insofar as the law allows BME to do so. BME Potential Customer data usage includes (but is not limited to) activities that aim to:

  1. Better understand Potential Customer requirements
  2. Improve BME Services & Products
  3. Customize BME’s website according to Potential Customer online behavior & preferences
  4. Provide Potential Customers with promotional material or surveys that BME believes Potential Customers will find interesting

BME may also use Potential Customer data in the event BME needs to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

Safeguarding and securing Potential Customer data

BME is committed to securing Potential Customer data and keeping it confidential. BME has put in place appropriate security measures to prevent Potential Customer data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed.

Data Retention

BME retains Potential Customer data for as long as may be necessary to fulfil the purposes BME intends, including the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

To determine the appropriate retention period for Potential Customer data, BME considers the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the Potential Customer data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of Potential Customer personal data, the purposes for which BME processes Potential Customer data and whether BME can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

When Potential Customers leave the BME website, BME encourages Potential Customers to read the Privacy Policy of every website Potential Customers visit.

Restricting the Collection of Customer Personal Data

In the event Potential Customers want to restrict use and collection of personal, aggregate, or anonymous data, this may be achieved in various ways (including, but not limited to):

  1. Leaving certain boxes unchecked during the completion of forms on the BME Website.
  2. Contacting BME with a request to provide an overview of data stored pertaining to a Potential Customer or with a request to remove data pertaining to a Potential Customer.
